Pretty much every LED Strip we have seen flooding the market today have generic LEDs on a Flexible Copper Circuit board with Resistors. The latest type are COB Leds - just smaller LEDs on a flexible circuit board, and just resistors for protection.

Our Litewave® Architectural LED Strips are different, they have resistors and SMT Transistors to ensure voltage and current regulation to the LEDs, this keeps LEDs working at their optimum but without causing them to degrade quicky. Without this protection other Strips can and will develop the following issues:

• LEDs begin to fade after just 1,000 hours
• Odd colour patches can develop on colour-changing strips
• In some cases, this happens within just a few months of use
• These problems are caused by inadequate voltage and current regulation, something our strips are specifically engineered to prevent.

No Special Drivers Required.

For running from the mains our Strips use Power Supplies (PSUs).

• 12V Versions: Operate reliably from any good-quality 10–15VDC power source (e.g., switch-mode PSU or LED driver)
• 24V Versions: Consistent performance from 19.5–25VDC
• Also compatible with 12V batteries, ideal for cars, motorhomes, and boats - no flickering or fading due to voltage fluctuations

Even under varying voltages, brightness stays consistent across the strip length.
